Why hire a Toronto Google Ads agency at all

Most of what makes Google Ads work is the same in Toronto as anywhere else: a clean account structure, honest conversion tracking, and someone reading the search terms report every week. You do not need a local agency for that. Three things do change here, and they are where GTA accounts are usually won or lost.

Dense auction

The most expensive clicks in Canada

Toronto and the GTA is one of the priciest ad markets in the country. The same population density that gives you customers gives your competitors the same keywords, so the auction is crowded before you bid.

Service areas

A map radius quietly wastes budget

A radius that looks sensible on a map will spend your money on people in Hamilton who were never going to drive to you. GTA targeting has to be drawn deliberately, suburb by suburb.

Lead quality

Local intent, not raw enquiry volume

A campaign producing thirty enquiries from outside your service area is not a campaign that is working. We count the leads you can actually serve, not the ones that look good in a report.

We are based in Toronto, we run accounts for businesses across the GTA, and every number below comes from those live accounts rather than from a case study library we bought.

Mobile detailing is a convenience purchase — the customer wants someone at their driveway this week. We built Search campaigns around mobile detailing and ceramic coating queries, a booking-focused landing page with click-to-call, and service-area targeting matched to the van’s actual routes.

Matrix Realty

77leads in four months

23leads a month, up from 14

Matrix Realty wanted more buyer and seller enquiries without raising budget. We built a call-and-form Search campaign on roughly $1,000 a month, and cost per lead fell every month of the engagement.

BlueValley

BlueValley needed the phone ringing inside a tight service area rather than across the GTA. A call-focused Search campaign built around that service area delivered 28 calls in the first month.

Industries we run Google Ads for in Toronto

We have managed campaigns across more than 40 verticals. The ones where we have the most Toronto and GTA-specific experience are:

If your industry is not on that list, the audit will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Where we work across the GTA

Our office is in Toronto and we take clients across the Greater Toronto Area and the rest of Canada. In practice that means campaigns running in:

Toronto — Scarborough, North York, Etobicoke, East York, York and the downtown core.
Peel — Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon.
York — Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Aurora.
Durham — Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa.
Halton — Oakville, Burlington, Milton.

We do not have offices in those municipalities and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We have an office in Toronto and clients throughout the region.

What Google Ads actually costs in Toronto

Two numbers decide whether Google Ads works for you, and most agencies only talk about one of them.

The first is your ad budget, which goes directly to Google. In the GTA, competitive service keywords regularly clear several dollars a click, and in finance, legal and some home-services categories considerably more. That matters less than people expect. What matters is whether your budget is large enough to collect enough clicks for the campaign to learn anything. A budget that buys fifteen clicks a month will not produce reliable data no matter how well it is managed, and we will tell you that during the audit rather than after you have paid us for three months.

The second is your cost per lead, which is the number that actually decides whether this is worth doing. Across our own GTA accounts that has ranged from under $8 in mortgage to $46 in real estate to roughly $28 per call in lawn care. The useful question is not “what is the CPC in Toronto” but “what is a customer worth to you, and does the maths work at that cost per lead”. The audit answers that before you commit.

Every figure above comes from a live Google Ads account we manage, measured over the period shown. These are our own results rather than industry averages, and the spread is the point: a mortgage lead and a booked photography session are not the same thing, and neither is their value to the business. What your own cost per lead lands at depends on your margins, how wide you draw your service area, and who else is bidding in it.

Our own fee is flat and published: $500, $800 or $1,200 a month depending on platform coverage and budget size, with $0 setup fees and no percentage of ad spend. Most agencies bill a percentage, which means they earn more when you spend more, whether or not the spending worked. We do not do that.

What you are up against in the Toronto market

Toronto has more Google Ads agencies per capita than anywhere else in Canada, and more advertisers bidding in every auction. Three practical consequences:

Your competitors are probably bidding on your brand name. It is legal, it is common here, and it is cheap for them. Whether you should defend against it depends on your numbers, not on principle.

Broad match and Performance Max behave differently in dense markets. With this many nearby businesses and this much search volume, loose targeting finds irrelevant traffic faster than it would in a smaller city. Negative keyword discipline is not optional here.

Local Services Ads sit above everything you do. For home services, trades and several professional categories in Toronto, LSA occupies the top of the page before a single Search ad renders. If you are in one of those categories and you are not in LSA, you are bidding for second place.

People search for this in several different ways — a Google Ads agency Toronto businesses can rely on, a PPC agency, a Google Ads company, a Google Ads consultant or a Google Ads specialist. They mostly mean the same thing, and we are all of them: a small in-house team doing Google Ads management in Toronto rather than a reseller passing your account to someone else.

How we start: a free 48-hour audit

Before you pay anything, we look at what you have. If there is an existing account, we go through the search terms report, the conversion actions, the campaign structure and the wasted spend, and come back within two business days with a specific list of what is broken and what we would do about it. If you have never run ads, we look at what your competitors are bidding on and what it would realistically cost to compete.

Plenty of these audits end with us saying the budget is too small to work yet. That is a real answer and we would rather give it than take the money.

Toronto Google Ads FAQs

How much does a Google Ads agency cost in Toronto?

Our management fee is $500, $800 or $1,200 a month depending on how many platforms you run and how large your budget is, with no setup fee and no percentage of ad spend. That is separate from your ad budget, which goes directly to Google. Toronto agencies more commonly charge 10 to 20 percent of spend, which gets more expensive the more you spend.

What is a realistic Google Ads budget for a Toronto small business?

It depends entirely on what a customer is worth to you. As a rough floor, a campaign needs enough clicks each month to learn from, which in most GTA service categories means a budget in the low thousands rather than a few hundred dollars. The free audit gives you a specific number for your industry and service area rather than a general one.

Do I need a Toronto agency, or can I use one anywhere?

For most of the work, location does not matter. Where it helps is service-area targeting, understanding which nearby municipalities are worth including, and judging lead quality against local intent. If an agency outside Canada is bidding for your business, ask them how they would handle your service area and listen to whether the answer is specific.

How long before Google Ads produces leads?

Expect early signal, meaning clicks, calls and form fills, within the first two to three weeks after launch. Expect the account to need roughly 60 to 90 days before performance is stable enough to judge properly. Anyone promising results in week one is describing luck, not a process.

Do I own the Google Ads account?

Yes. The account is created in your name, and you keep it and its entire history if we ever part ways. We do not run client campaigns through an agency-owned account, because that makes leaving expensive and we would rather you stayed because the work is good.

Do you work with businesses outside Toronto?

Yes. We run accounts across Canada and in the United States. This page exists because a lot of our work is in the GTA, not because it is all of it. See our Google Ads management service for the full picture.

Is a PPC agency the same as a Google Ads agency?

In practice, yes. PPC means pay-per-click, which covers Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads and others, so a PPC agency in Toronto is usually a Google Ads agency that also runs other platforms. Titles like Google Ads consultant, Google Ads specialist or Google Ads company describe the same work at different scales. What matters more than the label is whether the person touching your account every week actually works there.

Do you also run Meta Ads and Local Services Ads?

Yes. Meta Ads are included on the Growth and Scale plans, and Local Services Ads management is included on Scale. For most Toronto home-services businesses we would recommend running LSA alongside Search rather than instead of it.
