Website Design & Development
A fast, modern site built to turn visitors into customers.
Get a free audit →Most small business websites are brochures that happen to be online. If you are paying for traffic, the site is not a brochure — it is the last thing standing between a click you paid for and a customer you keep.
What's included
- A build shaped around one job. Before any design happens we agree what the site is for — calls, forms, bookings, orders — and every page is built to move someone toward it.
- Fast by default. Lean templates, compressed and correctly sized images, no page builder bloat. Speed is not a nice-to-have when half your traffic is on a phone on mobile data.
- Mobile-first, genuinely. Designed at phone width first, because that is where most of your visitors actually are, then expanded — not a desktop layout squeezed down until it fits.
- Conversion tracking wired in before launch. Call tracking, form submissions and key events flowing into Analytics and the ad platforms from day one, so traffic can be judged rather than guessed at.
- Written content, not placeholder text. Real headlines, real service descriptions, real answers to the questions buyers ask. We write it unless you would rather.
- Technical SEO from the first line. Clean URL structure, correct heading hierarchy, titles inside the visible limit, structured data, an accurate sitemap.
- Accessible and standards-based. Sensible contrast, keyboard navigation, labelled forms, alt text. It is the right thing to do and it happens to help rankings.
- You own everything. Your hosting, your domain, your WordPress install, your logins. No proprietary platform that holds the site hostage if you leave.
Our approach
It starts with a free 48-hour audit
If you already have a site, we go through it before quoting anything: what is slow, what is broken on mobile, where people are dropping out, and what is stopping it from converting the traffic it already gets. You get that back within two working days, in plain language. Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need a new site — you need three fixes and better tracking. We will tell you that.
The first 30 days: build and instrument
We agree the single job the site has to do, map the pages that serve it, and write the content before touching design, because design without copy is decoration. Then it gets built — fast templates, real images, forms and call tracking wired in, analytics configured, structured data emitted.
Before launch we test it the way a visitor will: on a phone, on a slow connection, filling in the form for real to confirm the lead actually arrives in your inbox. A form that silently fails is the most expensive bug a small business site can have, and it is more common than you would believe.
Then, every month
- Updates and backups. WordPress core, plugins and themes kept current, with backups you can actually restore from.
- Uptime and speed monitoring. We find out the site is down before your customers tell you.
- Iteration on evidence. What the analytics say people do, not what we assume they do.
What it costs
Websites are scoped rather than priced from a list — a five-page local service site and a multi-service booking site are different projects, and a single number for both would be a number for neither. After the free audit you get a written scope and a fixed project price for the work in it. If you want ongoing care and updates afterwards, that is a separate monthly fee, quoted alongside it.
There is no percentage of anything and no lock-in. And the site is yours — hosting, domain, install, logins, all in your name.
What results actually look like
SteadiFix is the clearest example on this site: an appliance repair business whose site was rebuilt around a call-focused landing page before ads were pointed at it. The case study lays out what was changed and what it produced. The pattern behind it is the one that matters — traffic that was already arriving started converting, because the page it landed on finally asked for the call.
A rebuild will not fix a demand problem. If nobody is searching for what you sell, a faster site sells the same nothing faster. We will say so at audit stage rather than after invoicing.
Reporting you will actually read
During the build you get progress in plain language and a staging link to click through, not a project management portal you have to learn. Afterwards, a short monthly note: uptime, speed, what was updated, and what the traffic and conversions did.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a website take?
A focused small business site is usually four to six weeks from approved scope to launch, and the thing that decides it is content. If photos and service details come back quickly it is closer to four. Waiting on copy is what turns a six-week build into a four-month one.
Do I need a new website, or can my current one be fixed?
Often it can be fixed. That is what the free audit is for. If the structure is sound and it is slow, unclear or untracked, those are repairs. A rebuild is warranted when the foundation itself is the problem — an abandoned theme, a page builder that cannot be made fast, or a structure that fights every change.
What platform do you build on?
WordPress, on your own hosting, with a lean custom theme rather than a heavy page builder. It is the most portable option — any developer can pick it up, and you are never locked into a platform that owns your site.
Will the new site hurt my current rankings?
Not if the migration is done properly. Every existing URL is mapped and redirected, titles and content are carried across deliberately, and the sitemap is resubmitted. Rankings usually wobble for a week or two and recover. Rankings get destroyed when someone launches a new site without redirects — that is the mistake, not the rebuild.
Do you write the content?
Yes, unless you want to. We interview you about the business, the objections you hear and the questions buyers ask, then write from that. You review and change anything before it goes live.
What happens after launch?
You own it outright and can walk away with it. If you want us to keep it updated, backed up and monitored, that is an optional monthly plan. Plenty of clients take the site and run it themselves — that is a legitimate choice, not a failure.
Can you work with my existing branding?
Yes. If you have a logo, colours and fonts you are committed to, we build within them. If you do not, we will make sensible choices and document them so everything you produce afterwards stays consistent.
Do you host the site?
No — and that is deliberate. Hosting stays in your name with a provider you control. Agencies that host your site own your leverage. We will recommend and set up hosting, but the account is yours.
